Taking a critical perspective towards digital platforms and attention economies, this work explores time-based visual processes and motion design techniques… in a broader conceptual framework within contested histories of image processing and dissemination (📸 🖼️ 📹). The work-in-progress consists of flatbed scans of digital motion design and creative coding, running on ubiquitous mobile devices, created with entry-level, open-source software. The project seeks to problematize the rendering capacities of the Internet browser (with HTML5 and CSS3).
This hands-on, design workshop pedagogy supports experiential learning, with project-specific outcomes focused on critical engagement with professional software processes, and emphasis on professional practice design workflow and asset management.
